Sometimes I think the only way I’ve gotten through life is by having a sense of humor.  With all the things that have been thrown at us the last three years, I feel like the only thing that is keeping us sane is the ability to laugh.  Since my wife’s diagnosis of MS two years ago and her struggles to remain employed, humor is a big part of what keeps us going.

I first created my Day of the Dead series two years ago as a distraction from the seriousness going on.  I didn’t really intend much for them.  Almost a year later I offered them as prints just to see what would happen.  And after one whole year of selling them, and I can’t be more thankful that I did, as it’s provided us with a  boost financially that has literally saved us from ruin.  Up until I sold my first prints, I was considering getting another job, as my full-time job, photography gigs, and freelance design just couldn’t keep us going.  By selling prints, I’ve been able to avoid doing that and am still able to enjoy time with my wife and 3 year old.

Right now I’m gearing up for this year’s May the 4th, I’m working feverishly on 7 new prints, both classic characters and prequel characters.  But I needed to instill some humor into my work.  And as much as I love the original Star Wars, I’ve always loved the comedic take on the beloved characters in Spaceballs.

I’d like to thank everybody who has made purchases, shared my work, faved, liked, hearted, etc.  Without your support, life would be a little less humorous.
